Bible Study “Not My Will, But Yours”

February 22 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Bible Study Series titled  “Not My Will, But Yours”  A Bible Study On The Bound Will.

Martin Luther considered his writing titled “The Bondage of the Will” to be one of his most important works.

The author of this study is the Rev. Stephen King. The same author as the Diciples of the Cross series we just finished.

The first week study is titled “How Free Are We?” False assumptions about Freedom. In a powerful and profound way, Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane gives us a perfect model for what true faith looks like. Faith is not the self-confident seeking of our own will, but a trusting submission to God’s will in our lives. In faith God has His will and way with us. There has been much debate throughout the history of Christian theology about the nature and power of the human will. Today, most people take human “free will” as an unqualified assumption and give the human free will credit for faith, salvation, and our ultimate destiny. However, Holy Scripture claims that it is not our will that is sovereign, but God’s.

This is another very good study that forms the basis of why we believe what believe as Lutherans. COME JOIN US! Coffee will be served.
